Another sun-soaked season.

Harry Potter. Marvel. T-Swizzle. Royalty.

Salve’s Hick Tourist Adventures, Day 2

Today started off at 4am (thanks jet lag). Then I took the bus with my aunt and cousin to go to Barnes&Noble. Can you say “I bought my weight in books?”

Then we went to Sally Beauty Supply, where they stocked China Glaze, ergo Colors of the Capitol. But all the colors left were mostly ugly, so I ended up just getting Harvest Moon, a kind of rusty orangey color.

Then we went back to Northridge Mall and I picked up my Disney figurines. I am under strict orders not to remove it from its packaging until we get back to Manila, so all I can show are the boxes:

Then it was lunch at Tony Roma with my cousins and my adorable niece, Sophia. We totally bonded over our matching dresses. I tell you, that kid is a genius. She named almost every charm on my charm bracelet (“Frog! Clock! Teapot! Key! Mirror!”) And she’s not even 2 yet. It was weird though, seeing my cousin with a kid. I mean, we grew up together before her family moved to the States, and  sometimes I still see the little girl who bossed us around and told us exactly how to dress our Bratz dolls.

After lunch, it was time to say bye-bye to cutie Sophia, and head to Long Beach to spend time with my other relatives. Tomorrow we’re going to Florida for WDW and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!!! I just wanna say thanks to www.disneyyandmore.tumblr.com and www.simpledisneythings.tumblr.com for helping me figure out where I should go, where the princesses are, how to schedule my park visits. It’s helped oodles. Thanks you guys.

Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Salve as a Hick Tourist, Day 1

During breakfast, my aunt just casually dropped how the area we were in was swarming with celebrities. Of course, my inner stalker fangirl crazy person chaser was obsessed with going to the right places to see them. MUST.SEE. FAMOUS. PEOPLE.

Then we dropped my brother and aunt off at Sports Authority, a place you would send me for torture. I absolutely cannot stand sports stores. So my mom and I went to Northridge.

I finally got Wonderstruck! Whehew! It actually smells good. Not too strong.

Then we went to this park in Beverly Hills for my adorable niece’s birthday party. Would have been really fun if I hadn’t come down with a case of the cramps in the middle of the party.

My mom, brother and I were practically falling asleep on our feet, so we decided to take a little nappy. Waking up was terrible. I could barely lift my head. But I knew we were going to a place where celebs chilled (Justin & Selena!) so I had to get up.

We waited for about an hour and 15 mins at Cheesecake Factory before we gave up and headed back. Walking into the parking lot, I finally got the celeb run-in I was wishing for, albeit on the D-list side. We saw that Brooke Shields lookalike from America’s Next Top Model. I felt short and ugly. MAN, them models are tall.

After giving up on the CF, we just grabbed burgers from In-N-Out.

Tomorrow, I’ll be searching high and low for the Colors of the Capitol, them Michael Kors wedges, and my Disney figurines.

LA-bound in 7 hours!!!!

Plus side: I will be able to visit my favorite Barnes&Noble bookstore in Long Beach… HOT TOPIC (they really need to open a branch in Manila).

Downside: Not one movie premiere, concert, or book signing, will be happening during my stay there. Unlucky much? The last time I stayed in LA, I got to go to a Taylor Swift concert AND the Iron Man 2 premiere.
